Solution structure of LSIII, a long neurotoxin from the venom of Laticauda semifasciata

The solution structure of the neurotoxin LSIII from the venom of Laticauda semifasciata was characterized using two- and three-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance methods. The results show that LSIII's overall protein folding is similar to the folding of other long neurotoxins. A prominent central loop has an end that appears disordered in relation with the other parts of the molecule but reveals local order upon closer examination.
