Abstract
- The treatment of Pope's editorial interventions as merely eccentric, and the observation of faults and beauties in Pope's Shakespear, as a part of a specifically contemporary cultural movement, is studied to explore the links between the symbols used in 1725 Shakespear and Pope's annotation practices.
