Abstract
- A study conducted on the dietary intake of metals such as lead, cadmium, copper, iron, zinc and mercury in different regions of Spain indicates that the intake of lead by people in Madrid is high and poses a risk to health, especially in children and in pregnant and lactating women. The levels of cadmium and zinc are close to the acceptable daily intake values in some areas, but in places where the diet includes sea foods, the levels are of cadmium and mercury are higher than the provisional tolerable weekly intake values.
