Abstract

Trends show that moving agricultural equipment on public roads is risky. Farmers from larger farms are often required to log more miles to plant, harvest, and transport crops. A 2001 study shows that farmers were at fault in 35% of collisions, and motorists were at fault in 42% of cases. Laws indicate that farmers are held liable for failure to adequately warn motorists.
