Abstract

The private branch exchanges (PBX) market in 1995 has experienced a 10% growth from 1994 revenues due to increased call center and networking needs by more customers. A strong call center demand and more penetration of computer-telephony integration applications and options are predicted for 1996. Most PBX vendors have maintained their market rank, with only Nortel posting doubled market share during the mid-1980s. Despite its lack of a national direct sales/service distribution channel and a relatively outdated product architecture, Nortel remains the premier marketer in the industry.<br />The PBX business continued to grow during the past year.
