Abstract

The associations between the functional polymorphism in thrombospondins (THBSs) and lumbar-disc herniation (LDH), a common muscoskeletal disease are discussed. THBS2 is shown to highly affect alternative splicing and the binding of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in the Japanese populations.
