Abstract

Designing public assistance is a controversial issue and yet a necessity due to widespread poverty. The feasibility of targeted programs has been considered by governments due to their objective of minimizing costs of macroeconomic adjustment programs while conforming to restrained government spending. A discussion of targeting as well as some of its common methods.
