Abstract
- Inhibitory effects of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) on pial vein spontaneous rhythmic contractions (SRC) are similar to those of 5 methooxytryptamine (5-MT) and 5-carboxamidotryptamine (5-CT), indicating a receptor sybtype for cAMP synthesis mediation. 5-HT, 5-MT and 5-CT induced inhibitions of SRC were weakened in a concentration of methysergide. This was found from pharmacological in vitro tissue bath techniques. Pial arteries and veins from brains of thirty adult pig heads were used for this experiment.
