Abstract
- The examination of race/ethnic variation on the Horn-Cattel fluid and crystallized constructs reveals that there is a remarkable relationship between race/ethnic groups and performance on fluids and crystallized variables. Blacks and Hispanics are overwhelmed by Whites with regards to tasks dependent on school learning (crystallized), and on those which show new problem solving (fluid). Covariation in educational attainments do not affect the results. Hispanics do better on fluid.
