Abstract

The compact disc-based 32-bit video game systems will not remain top market sellers for as long as the cartridge-based 16-bit systems because they are more expensive and the technology is developed at a faster pace in the mid-1990s. The 32-bit machines are $300 to $350 per unit compared to the 16-bit machines which were $100 to $150 per unit.
