Abstract
- A recent study shows that the temperature of Venus, at an altitude of 91 km is 10 K higher, and is lower by 3.6 K at an altitude between 74 and 83 km, as compared to the observations of the Pioneer Venus mission. The study, using a near infrared mapping spectrometer during Galileo-Venus encounter in Feb 1990, of Venusian atmosphere is done using high spatial resolution infrared spectra of night side.
