Abstract
- A study was conducted to identify boundary conditions for the effectiveness of partitioned pricing. The role of the reasonableness of a surcharge, as well as the need for cognition in consumers' processing of pricing information, is analyzed. Results show that there is no difference between partitioned and combined pricing across surcharge conditions.
