Abstract
- FRAM (Fine Resolution Antarctica Model) can simulate many hydrographic characteristics and the kinetic components of the Agulhas Current system, but the coarse horizontal and insufficient vertical resolution limit its use. FRAM shows great success at simulating the current's retroflection, ring shedding and advection across the South Atlantic and eddy formation across the Subtropical Convergence.
