Abstract

A study is conducted to explore how external sodium binding changes the conformation of the sugar-binding domain of the sodium-dependent glucose cotransporter SGLT1. Results reveal mutated residues directly involved in sugar binding and residues with indirect roles in translocation due the Na impact on the sugar-binding site of the SGLT1.
