Abstract

The information revolution has resulted in information being manipulated and presented as true even when it is not. A scenario between a reporter and company executives is presented to explain this theory. The reporter calls up the executives of one company to verify a rumor of a planned acquisition. Although the executives denied the rumor, the reporter chose to interpret their denials as admissions to make the rumor appear true.
