The study of Trypanosoma cruzi reveals that this psecies inhibits the transient outward current in epicardial myocytes. The Trypanosoma cruzi is the primary cause for Chagas' disease which results in cardia aerhythimas and cardiomyopathy. The inhibition property of Trypanosoma is involved in the regulation and control of cardiac diseases.
