New approaches push antibodies ahead

Advancements have been made in antibody engineering, such as de novo generation of human antibodies, new techniques to increase antigen affinity and antibody fragment production to replace standard methods. The new methods in therapeutic antibodies developed by companies such as Morphotek and MacroGenics are discussed.
