Characterizing web users' online information behavior

A study was conducted to propose a three-dimensional, cubic topology for the characterization of online information behavior of Web users. In order to prove a set of hypotheses, the study used data consisting of clickstreams of 2,022 Web users which were obtained from InsightXplore, Taiwan. It was found out that the number of categories of Web sites explored, number of sites visited per category, and number of pages downloaded per site, are highly correlated.
