Paris couture: it's cinema verite

Karl Lagerfeld was one of the first fashion designers to complain about the early date for July's haute couture show, but he still revealed his new look. A supple and smooth corset under a long dress makes up the centerpiece of his new Chanel wardrobe for fall 1995. Gianfranco Ferre says he has been inspired by the colors of Paul Cezanne. Hubert de Givenchy is making his last couture appearance, while Gianni Versace is making headlines for his planned spectacle involving Madonna, the artist formerly known as Prince, and Elizabeth Hurley.
