Abstract

Four virus diseases which kill thousands in the US are described, transmission and prevention noted, and statistics cited. Hantaviruses spread by mice, three forms of viral hepatitis, influenza which infects 37 million in the US yearly, and rabies are discussed. In 1994 30,000 people were vaccinated against rabies.
