Abstract
- Oilheating equipment typically produce lower levels of the hazardous gas carbon monoxide (CO), compared to heating equipment fueled by natural gas, propane, kerosene, wood and coal. CO is an odorless, colorless and tasteless gas capable of causing death or injury when present at levels above those set by the EPA. Studies show that modern oilburners dramatically reduce the risk exposure to this gas, particularly when these equipment are adjusted carefully and subjected to regular maintenance.
