Abstract

The test results of the Stress-Management approach for a [Nb.sub.3]Sn wind/react coil fabrication magnet are discussed. The quench current of 85 percent of the plateau value or 81 percent of the weighted strand short sample was observed at a ramp to quench power cycle with an average ramp rate of 2.1 kA/s and a peak rate of 4.2 kA/s.
