Paclitaxel-functionalized gold nanoparticles

The synthesis of paclitaxel-gold nanoparticles hybrid structures is described and standard analytical methods are used for observing the covalent attachment of paclitaxel molecules to the surface of 2 nm gold nanocrystals. This approach has provided an opportunity for preparing hybrid particles with a well-defined amount of drug and has offered a new alternative for the design of nanosized drug-delivery systems.
