Abstract

Research conducted on pregnant and non-pregnant adolescents showed that the ability for goal orientation among non-parenting students is similar to that of the 'at risk' students. One of the major differences between the two types were that non-parenting adolescents were more interested in intrapersonal goals than their counterparts, the 'at risk' students, or those who are likely to become failures in life. The GRADS is a program that helps teen parents and their children endure negative consequences, thereby helping them to develop positive goal orientation.
