Abstract

A comparative study of the pharmacologic responses of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenocortical (HPA) axis to physostigmine, a cholinesterase inhibitor, in younger and older adults indicates that aging enhances HPA axis response to physostigmine. There is no variation in the levels of physostigmine in the plasma due to aging.
