Abstract
- A study of the expression of cell adhesion molecules (CAMs) on the growth cones of chick cutaneous and muscle sensory neurons through the immunofluorescent labeling of the growth cones of muscle and cutaneous sensory neurons reveals an even labeling on the growth cone, the growth cone-adjacent neurite segment and the filopodia for all CAMs studied. Sites of interneuronal contact exhibit intense labeling for axonin-1. Image analysis of labeling intensities reveals that muscle and cutaneous sensory neurons exhibit similar intensities for axonin-1 and G4/L1.
