Abstract
- Regulatory laws are notorious for going too far in their requirements while accomplishing so little of their goals. An example is New York, NY's building code which prevented Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity from establishing a homeless shelter because it required the installation of elevators, which the nuns had no intention of using. Other examples of unnecessary regulations from federal agencies are presented. The legal complications caused by such laws can be exploited by unscrupulous individuals to their advantage, which is unfortunate for law-abiding citizens.
