Abstract
- Icelandic investment firm FL Group is pressuring AMR Corp., the parent of American Airlines, to examine alternatives to improve the air carrier's stock, which has dropped by nearly half since the beginning of the year. Among its recommendations, FL Group, which has an 8.3% stake in the airline, has suggested the company spin off its frequent-flier program, which is valued at approximately $6 bil compared to AMR's market capitalization value of $5.4 bil.
