Abstract

The xenophobia and ethnic nationalism promoted by extreme right radical leaders in post-Cold War Europe has led to social disorder, rampant violence and discrimination against ethnic minorities and aliens, and threatens to destroy prospects for a peaceful, united Europe. The increasing support for authoritarian, ethnocentric nationalism and neo-Nazi extremism in Europe since the end of the Cold War is a sign of moral decadence and disregard of social values. Nationalist sentiments devoid of fundamental respect for humanitarian values, human dignity and human rights will lead to the criminal destruction of social peace and stability.
