Abstract

Michigan's item-pricing law will be re-evaluated in the state legislature during 1995, much to the retail industry's pleasure. The law has cost retailers much money since 1976, when the law was put into effect. Retailers have been required to tag every product they sell to protect consumers from errors made by automated checkout machines. Retailers have been fined if there is a difference between the item's price and the price put into the checkout machine.<br />LANSING, Mich.
