Religious service attendance slips to 31%

A Gallup survey conducted Mar 7-12, 1995, found that only 31% of Canadians attend a religious service on a weekly basis. Comparatively, 38% of Americans attend a service weekly. In Canada, the younger the person, the less likely they are to attend a church. Asked about their interpretation of the Bible, 53% of Canadians said it is the inspired word of God, compared to 28% who say it is a book of fables and 14% who say it is the literal word of God.
