Abstract
- Immunofluoresence studies reveal that fibulin-1 and -2 are significantly codistributed throughout the development of the endocardial cushion tissue (ECT) and are expressed in the heart valve in the adult stage. A comparative study suggests that fibulin-2 is a better marker than fibulin-1 for the ECT. ECT development and the tensile strength of the cardiac values are influenced by these two fibulins.
