Abstract
- A correlation between a transgenic reporter gene's tissue-specific expression and an octamer and CCAAT motif binding nuclear proteins, with the help of in vitro and in vivo studies, indicate that the presence of sequence elements in the -1,824-bp region of the promoter is essential for in vivo tissue-specific transcription of lipoprotein lipase. Gel-retention analysis and transient transfection methods reveal maximum expression of the luciferase reporter gene in transgenic mice having the -1,824-bp promoter constructs.
