Abstract

The origin and development of the Kalak Nappe Complex in northern Norway is discussed. It is indicated that the Kalak Nappe complex developed outside of Baltica, probably in the pre-Gondwanan realm or the southern lapetus and was then translated towards and accreted to Baltica during Scandian collisional phase.
