Probing electrostatic interactions along the reaction pathway of a glycoside hydrolase: Histidine characterization by NMR spectroscopy

The characterization of active and non-active histidines demonstrates its role in probing the electrostatic interactions along the reaction pathway of a glycoside hydrolase. The results show that histidine play very significant structural and functional roles in the hydrolase because of its diverse ionization behaviors.
