Abstract

The spread of HIV subtypes B and CRF01_AE, the difference between their incidence and the effect of changes in injecting risk behavior as well as treatment on the distribution of the two variants are studied. It is found that variations in risk behavior and the introduction of treatment may alter the distribution of the subtypes but CRF01_AE remains dominant.
