Abstract
- An analysis of the Deutero-Isaiah's concept of monotheism, justice and power as argued by Millard Lind shows that his explanation of the uniqueness of Yahweh, which can be found in texts that reflect monotheism in Yahweh's trial speeches, servant poems and Cyprus poems, can be supplemented by the prophet's imagery of cosmos. Deutero-Isaiah has not given a complete picture of Yahweh's cosmos but he has differentiated it from the traditional Near Eastern model. The model of consonant cosmology can be developed from the political theology which is described in the text.
