Abstract

Multinuclear NMR spectroscopy reveals the formation of an equilibrium mixture of novel rhodium amido complexes in the reaction of LiNHPh with four Rh(I) complexes. Reaction in the presence of 10 equiv of LiNHPh leads to the formation of a stable single, anionic, bis(phosphine)bis(anilido)rhodium(I) complex. 31P(1H) and 103Rh(1H) NMR experiments help characterize the anionic complex.
