Abstract
- LacZ-transcriptional fusion expression experiments assess the potential of the LysR-type regulatory proteins CatR, and ClcR, to cross-regulate catechol and 3-chlorocatechol pathways in Pseudomonas putida. CatR interacts with the clcABD promoter region while ClcR interacts with the catBC promoter region. Only CatR and not ClcR, can cross-activate, as explained by differences in the CatR and ClcR binding sites and their binding properties.
