Abstract
- The Indian art exhibitions conducted by the Museum of Northern Arizona (MNA) which include pottery works of Hopi, Navajo and Zuni communities highlight the American culture which has originated in Europe. The Indian art project started by the MNA has received encouragement and help from Mary-Russell Ferrell Colton who was one of the founders of the museum. Although there is a widespread assumption that Indian art exhibitions and museums help the public to understand the culture of native Americans, the pottery works are not true representatives of their culture.
