Abstract
- 1,3,5-Triethylbenzene and pyrogallol are used for the synthesis of new tripodal receptor bearing three catechol subunits on a benzene platform and the binding ability of the tricatecholic receptor for carbohydrate detection is examined. The results have shown that the tripodal catecholic receptor binds the octyl glycosides with different affinities and with a 6-fold selectivity factor of the [alpha]-mannoside over the [beta]-glucoside.
