Global strategy reaps rewards

UK exports of food and drink are expected to total 9 billion pounds sterling in 1994, representing a rise of 10% on 1993, according to Geoffrey John, chairman of Food From Britain, speaking at the 1994 Export Innovation Awards. Schwan's Europe frozen pizza maker won the 10,000 pound top prize in the innovation competition, while prizes of 2,500 pounds were also awarded to five companies in the potatoes, cereal products, grocery, drinks and red meat categories.
