Managers and directors have long focused on financial reports and statements to gauge the performance of their respective companies. However, with the emergence of new accountability and management realities and business paradigms, it has become clear that other performance measures are needed to better track corporate performance. Environmental management and long-term human and social well-being are two dimensions of performance which are increasingly assuming key roles in performance evaluations.
