Evaluating sampling strategy under two criteria

A normative technique is developed for the selection of a sampling plan for an inspection lot. The method incorporates various factors from information economics, quality control, decision theory and financial portfolio selection. An information system based on expected payoff and standard payoff distribution is also considered. The model is shown to be effective in the determination of sampling plans for specific situations.
