Conformational equilibria in formic acid and the adduct of formic acid and hexafluoroacetone, HC[O.sub.2]C[(C[F.sub.3]).sub.2]OH

Conformational equilibria in formic acid and, adduct of formic acid and hexafluoroacetone, HC[O.sub.2]C[(C[F.sub.3]).sub.2]OH were investigated. Formic acid showed separate signals for the E and Z conformations in solvents containing hydrogen and acceptor with peaks for E and Z conformations found at low temperatures for both formic acid and hexafluoroacetone.
