Abstract
- The assessment of recreation trips' regional economic impacts is essential to the decisions of public agencies on the use of recreation as a rural development tool. Minimizing the total cost of recreation trip production means that households will spatially distribute their input purchases to trip production. This includes trip-specific inputs and durable recreation equipment. Recreation sites contribute to a region's economic growth via household purchases of trip inputs.
