Some considerations about the cooling of the rotor of a superconducting motor

The efficiency of different cooling systems, such as a cold insert, circulation of a cool gas and boiling of a cool liquid, to cool the rotor of a superconducting rotor in a synchronous machine is examined. The findings reveal that the cooling efficiency depends on the cooling system itself and on the gas used.
