And they're off: China puts makers through the paces

China has earnestly embarked on a quest to develop an affordable but modern automobile for its 1.2 billion people. All of the major international automobile manufacturers will be represented at a government-sponsored 'Family Automobile Congress' in Beijing, China. The automobile congress will be a combination trade fair, technical conference and negotiating session. A total of 20 foreign companies will present their products.
