(Indenyl)cobalt(I)-catalyzed cocyclization of alkyne, alkene, and carbon monoxide to cyclopentenones

1, 5-cyclooctadiene (indenyl)cobalt(I) complex catalyzes the cyclization of alkyne, alkene and carbon monoxide under mild reaction conditions producing cyclopentenones in good yields. This catalyst helps synthesize cyclopentenones from enzymes and from alkynes with norbornadine or norbornene and this method can be used for large scale production of cyclopentenones.
