Abstract
- The crystal structure of Methanothermobacter thermoautotrophicus inosine 5'-monophosphate (IMP) cyclohydrolase in complex with either IMP or 5-aminoimidazole-4-carboxamide ribonucleotide (AICAR) at 2.0 and 2.6 Angstrom resolution, respectively, is reported. A mechanism is proposed for the MthPurO-catalyzed cyclohydrolase reaction and is compared to that of cyclohydrolase (PurH) and of green fluorescent protein (GFP).
